A family of Orracle's.

While in Cleveland, TN I had the pleasure of photographing the Orr family.
I met Tyler Orr my freshman year of college, and have watched his family grow in an awesome way.

Tyler's mom (not pictures) is, undoubtedly, the best cook below the Mason Dixon line.

I bought a Holga when I still lived in Cleveland, but never really thought to use it. (I also didn't know about film processing, so...). I shot one roll there, but didn't understand that since I was using expired, 100 speed film, I should probably be shooting out in the sunlight. Aka: the roll did not come out.

So here is take two. These photos span from Cleveland, TN (this past summer, to now). Some images were taken in NY, MA, and RI.







Bear with me as I get the hang of this. I pick up another roll this week.
All in all, this camera is fun. I love using film. Love it love it love it.

It's magic. There is much magic in anticipation and mystery.
I dig it.

I have the distinct honour of photographing Michelle and Ryan's wedding next month and I can't wait! Big time.

I am moving back to the cladestine town of Cleveland, TN in July and am starting to book (weddings, engagements, portraits, band promos, family portraits, etc). So if you're interested...let me know! My first month back is getting full full full.

Carousel rides and canes.

This has been a weekend full of shooting, combined with just the right amount of relaxing and reading.
I attended a party to celebrate the Spring (unfortunately it was a dreary day), but there was
carousel riding!



This man fell asleep riding the carousel. Just nodded right off...with his cane resting on the seat beside him.



This is Charlotte, she's a great kid.





I was going to go to the movies this weekend, and instead I bought two books.
The first book is called Ghostwalk and it is poorly written, but teaches about the principles of light and alchemy, which fascinates me. Light, fascinates me.

Talk about being entirely present in the moment. He is completely there, in the music and the sound. It thrills me.

Moving on to other great art: Kurt Vonnegut. "A Man Without a Country." (Notice how I put the period inside of the parentheses...even though book titles don't have periods.) I read it and laugh and laugh and laugh! The man is a master of wit. Maybe even THE master of wit. He gets me and I get him.


My dad came to visit me yesterday. Now, if you don't know about my dad...he is awesome.
Seventh degree black belt, retired AF Colonel, retired pastor, and the best dad in the world. He can grow a beard like a silver fox (but usually doesn't).






He taught me the right way to block a punch and stab someone in their vital organs, if I am ever threatened with harm. Yes.

Friday night I went to a Dj live event dance party at Pearl Street in Northampton to photograph the event. Now, dance parties aren't really my thing... parties in general aren't really my thing. But I went and it ended up being an awesome, awesome night.

The Dj's were super cool. They do live media (screen show of neat images/designs) while they dj. Then, early in the night I met a super cool guy and got to hang out with him later. Since I'm not really a night person (I get up too early to stay up late) it was unexpected and awesome. I made a new friend, got a new mix cd, and photographed cool dj's.

The following afternoon I took portraits of Andy the Dj.








I started shooting the show with bounce flash, but later switched to the Canon 135mm f2 lens and shot wide open with available light and liked it way better.

Lovey Lovey Engaged.

While in Tennessee, I had the pleasure! of photographing two lovely engaged couples.
I really like photographing couples. It's what is real.
Both of these couples were AWESOME to work with. Super fun.

One time I filled like, fifteen or seventeen, orange ballons with water (they were not water ballons and they were huge) and put them under his covers. I did this because I am hilarious.
